Generally, a client and their ex-spouse or ex-partner must decide if they wish to resolve their issues through a separation agreement. A separation agreement is a great way to reduce the cost of your relationship breakdown, and to create a long-term resolution that is best for your family.

If you and your ex-spouse  are able to resolve your family law matters through a separation agreement, you can typically obtain an uncontested divorce, which once again, can reduce the cost and time substantially.

Unfortunately, not every couple can resolve their family law issues through a separation agreement.  In Ontario, there are different courts which have different powers to resolve different issues (known as jurisdiction).  Hailey J. Zysman can assist you in navigating the court to determine which court the best way to resolve your family law matter.
